Transforming with F10

Select any editable text, hold F10, say what you want changed, release — the rewrite replaces the selection in place.

Flunkey captures the app name and clipboard, clears the clipboard to detect a fresh copy, then fires Ctrl+C and the mic in parallel — polling 8×50ms for a stable selection. If nothing arrives you get Select some text first instead of a rewrite of thin air. Your spoken instruction is transcribed without polish; say nothing and the default applies: “Fix grammar, spelling, punctuation, and clarity while preserving meaning/tone/formatting.”

The transform engine

The rewrite call runs at temperature 0 with a TEXT TRANSFORMER system prompt — return ONLY the rewritten text, preserving language, names, URLs, code indentation, and email greeting/body/sign-off — plus your dictionary and the detected app context (code vs email rules differ). Output is sanitized: fences, preambles (“Here is…”), and stray quotes stripped, blank lines collapsed, exact dictionary casing enforced. Garbage/no-op detection skips the paste rather than churning your document. Every run lands on the Transforms page as an Instruction / Original / Result modal.

App profiles

26 profiles tune capture and paste per app, auto-detected from the foreground executable + window title: vscode, cursor, antigravity, opencode, browser, edge, brave, chatgpt, claude, copilot, perplexity, whatsapp, discord, telegram, obsidian, evernote, onenote, terminal, notepad, word, excel, outlook, powerpoint, powerbi, slack, and a generic fallback.

Undo & chaining

Replacement uses your app’s normal editing path, so Ctrl+Z undoes it. Chain edits by selecting again: “shorter” → “friendlier” compounds cleanly.

Limits

Editable text only

F10 needs a selection in an editable field. It cannot rewrite rendered PDFs, images, or locked documents — copy the text into an editable surface first.
